Good News: Penrith Fire Engine And Alston Ambulance Saved

It’s always nice to pass on good news when you hear it – in the face of cuts the Penrith Fire Engine will be retained after a successful community campaign, this makes perfect sense when you consider that the nice new Community Fire Station would be less useful without it (See what our MP Rory Stewart says about it here)

It’s also good news to hear that Alston will keep its Ambulance .

Apparently the next challenge will be to achieve an exemption for our Mountain Rescue teams from paying VAT on their equipment, click here to see a review of Penrith Mountain Rescue’s Illustrated Talk at MMVI.
