Eden Hydro Inaugural Meeting at Little Salkeld Mill, Sept. 2nd, 7:30pm

We’ve had a fair amount of rain this year. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to use some of that rushing water in our rivers to generate some CO2 free electricity?  Here is an event that will be of interest to anyone who would like to become involved in the development of hydro-electric power generation in the Eden area of Cumbria.

Apparently space at this event will be limited, so please call 01768 881047 in advance, so that they can make the necessary arrangements.

The following information is quoted verbatim from the Eden Hydro flyer:

“As many of you are aware, there is tremendous potential in Eden for renewable energy generation from the abundant water resources of the area. The purpose of the meeting is to form a group that can assist in the identification of suitable sites and help in the formation of co-operative community groups to develop them.

In other parts of the country several of these schemes are now up and running and these have provided useful models of how they could be developed in Eden. New Hydro technologies are now being used to ensure wildlife habitats (most importantly for fish) remain totally unaffected.

If you are interested in this low-key, environmentally friendly and sustainable energy generation please join us at this meeting.”

Before you come the organisers suggest that you might want to have a look at the following websites:
